Garden in Chichester, Chichester (2015)
House conversion and garden originally designed by Philip Powell for his parents – one of his first commissions. Powell teamed up with ‘Jacko ‘ Moya and together they won the competition to design and build Churchill Gardens in Pimlico, London. The estate was modernist in design and its layout very influential in contemporary thinking about public housing provision in the UK and Europe.
This Chichester garden reflects Powell’s early essay in modernism and uses materials that would have been common at the time.
